 JCLC provides the following programs and services:

  • Basic skills instruction: 1-to-1 private tutoring for native English speaking adults with reading, writing or math challenges, including preparation for GED
  • English as a second language (ESL): 1-to-1 and small group instruction
  • Preparation for U.S. Citizenship Test
  • Computer Skills
  • Jail Literacy: Basic Skills and ESL instruction for inmates in the County Jail
  • Family Literacy:
    • Books for Babies: a free keepsake book for every baby born at Fort Hospital, a collaboration with Dwight Foster Public Library in Fort Atkinson
    • Clinic Outreach: volunteers read to children in clinic waiting rooms and provide a free book with information about libraries, early literacy and JCLC programs
    • Rooted in Reading – an emergent literacy program for families with 3 to 5 year olds
